Northbrook Woman's Club Scholarships 

The Northbrook Woman's Club Foundation annually grants scholarships to Northbrook residents who are high school seniors or current college students for the purpose of continuing the student's post high school education. These scholarships may be used for college, trade school or professional education expenses. Funding for the scholarships is derived from the activities of the Charitable Ways and Means Committee (such as the Woman's Club Annual Gala).

The scholarships are awarded on the following criteria: 

  • Student’s Academic Progress
  • Financial Need
  • Community Involvement
  • Extracurricular Activities 

The application for this scholarship award must include the following: 

  • Completed Local Scholarship Application
  • Required Essay
  • Copy of High School Transcript
  • Copy of ACT or SAT

The application period for the 2019/2020 academic year scholarships is now open. Please review the instructions below.

Northbrook residents who are either college-bound or vocational school bound high school seniors or current college/vocational students are eligible to apply for a Northbrook Woman’s Club Foundation Scholarship. Glenbrook North High School students follow GBN local scholarship application submission and deadline rules through the Naviance platform at GBN. All others can complete the application on our website, www.northbrookwomansclub.org/scholarships, submit electronically via email to [email protected], or mail to the Northbrook Woman’s Club Foundation Scholarship at P.O. Box 132, Northbrook Illinois, 60065-0132. 

Applications must be postmarked by February 29, 2019.

Scholarships are awarded to students whose application demonstrates their strength in three main areas:

  1. Diligent Student (strong academic work ethic)
  2. Committed extra-curricular involvement (e.g., sports / activity / job / volunteering)
  3. Benefitting from scholarship

 The applications for this scholarship award must include the following:

  1. Completed 2020 Local Scholarship Application – High School
  2. The required essay
  3. A copy of your high school transcript

All information included in the application will be kept in strictest confidence. All applicant names, family names and addresses will be kept anonymous during the review and selection process by the Scholarship Committee. The selected scholarship recipients will be notified by Northbrook Woman’s Club Foundation in late May. Scholarship recipient names may be released in local PR efforts unless requested to remain anonymous.
